Opening Hours & Locations
What are your opening hours?
Our opening hours are from 7:30 – 18:00. Monday to Friday
The morning session is 7.30-1.00 | The afternoon session is 1.00-6.00
If you want to arrive a little later or collect your child a little earlier, then just let us know so we can be ready for you.
Why is the morning session longer?
We recognise that commuting in the morning is often an issue, so we open a little earlier to help parents arrive at work feeling a little less stressed from the daily commute.
Do I need to let you know if my child will not be attending nursery?
Please let us know as soon as possible if your child will not be attending Nursery as expected. This can be done via the ‘Famly App’ If your child is absent due to ill health it is important we are aware of any communicable illness. Unfortunately we cannot refund any missed sessions due to illness.
Nappies
My child still wears nappies; do I need to provide these?
We provide nappies and Sudocrem for each nappy change, if you would like to use reusable nappies please just let us know, we are happy for you to bring in your own and we will support your use of them.
Babysitting
Do you offer a babysitting service?
We don’t provide a babysitting service however we are aware that parents might on occasions ask Educators to babysit. This is a completely private arrangement and is not covered by The NSC policies and procedures.

How do I inform you if I have changed my contact details?
Contact details can be changed via the ‘Famly’ App
Fees
Fees, Hours & Holidays
What do my nursery fees cover?
Fees include all meals, snacks, formula for infants, nappies, excursions, forest school and beach school. Fees are due in advance and invoices are issued in advance for the following month. Unfortunately, there can be no refunds for sickness or holidays. Fees are calculated based on the 51 weeks of the year that The NSC is open, averaged into 12 monthly payments. Bank / public holidays & INSET days are payable in full. We are also closed between Christmas & New Year no charge is made for Christmas closure. Please note you will not be charged for this period. Fees are reviewed on an annual basis (usually in April) and any increase will be advised.
Are there any registration fees?
Our registration fee is £100. This fee goes a little way to cover all the little extras that you receive as a new parent. Your £200 deposit is refunded when you leave.
Will there be a fee increases?
We review our fees annually (usually in April). Any fee increases are reflective of any increases in running costs. We will notify you in advance of any increases.
Will I be charged when I’m on holiday?
If you are planning a holiday, please upload dates to the “Famly” App so we know not to expect them. Unfortunately we cannot refund any missed sessions due to holiday.
How do I book extra sessions?
If you wish to book your child in for additional sessions this can be done via the ‘Famly’ App. Extra sessions are non-refundable.
Do you accept Government Funding?

Discounts
Do you offer a sibling discount?
Sibling discounts are only available at selected settings. Please ask your Admissions and Parent Liaison Manager.
Do you offer Full Time discounts?
Full Time discounts are only available at selected Nurseries. Please ask your Admissions and Parent Liaison Manager.
Notice Period
What notice do I need to give to leave my place at the nursery?
Should you wish to cancel your child’s place, we require 1 calendar month’s written notice for sessions where funding is being claimed. For additional, non-funded sessions, we require 2 calendar month’s notice.
My child is leaving for school; do I need to give any notice?
We will assume your child will be leaving on the last session at the end of August however formal notice is still required. We can however support your child’s transition into reception. If you require more sessions into September, then just let us know as soon as possible.
Joining
Nursery Places
Do you offer half-day sessions?
Yes, we do offer half-day however only at selected Nurseries. The admissions criteria is published on each nursery school webpage. We realise that may parents work flexibly so we aim to support your childcare needs by offering half days, however we do see benefits to children attending for full days as it allows the natural flow of the day to support and reinforce leaning experiences.
Is there a minimum number of days that my child can attend nursery?
Yes all our places are subject to a minimum attendance. This may vary between our Nurseries. The admissions criteria is published on each nursery school webpage.
Viewings
The nursery I’m interested in isn’t open yet.
Don’t worry we will be holding open days as soon as the nursery is ready. You are welcome to call or email and discuss your requirements and book your place on our waiting list to avoid missing out as we do anticipate getting booked quickly so this is highly recommended.
Can I book a Viewing?
Absolutely, our Admissions and Parent Liaison Manager will be happy to help arrange this for you. Please enquire on our ‘Admissions’ page.
Waiting List
Do you operate a waiting list?
If a place is not immediately available for you, you can join our waiting list.
How is availability assessed?
Availability is assessed on a regular basis, taking in to account any leavers or room moves. We will update you and inform you if a place becomes available.
Settling In
What is the settling in process?
We offer settle sessions over a one or two week period to ensure your child is well settled. This can be extended if required. Our Admissions and Parent Liaison Manager will arrange these sessions with you.
How much time will my child spend outside?
We have a real passion for outdoor education we have specialist outdoor educations who set up engaging outdoor activities for our children. We offer several opportunities to access the outdoor environment throughout the day.
What extra-curricular activities do you offer?
In addition to our core curriculum, we offer ‘Enrichment Activities’, which are Languages, Yoga, Cooking & Baking, Excursions and On-Site Visits. You can find more information about these on our ‘Enrichment Activities’ page.
What happens when my child is ready to move rooms?
Your child’s key educator will inform you when your child is ready to move rooms. We offer lots of settling in sessions to ensure a smooth transition.
How often are your parents’ evenings?
We do not offer formal parents’ evenings, however we do organised twice yearly parent social events, where you can talk to our staff in a more informal, relaxed atmosphere.
September Intake
What is A September Intake?
Some of our Nurseries operate on a September intake basis. This means that every September the Nursery will assess what spaces will be available for the following September.
Once the availability has been established, applications can be assessed, and placements offered.
Parents can apply to join the waiting list for a September placement at any time. There may be occasions where the nursery can accommodate an earlier start date if there is space available. Parents should contact the Admissions and Parent Liaison Manager at their chosen Nursery.
Can I only join in September?
No, there may be limited sessions that become available throughout the year, so it is always worth asking if there is any current availability.
When Should I Apply?
We recommend applying as soon as possible. If your chosen sessions are not available, you will be able to join the waiting list.
Ofsted
Do you have an Ofsted rating?
Some of our settings are newly registered and a full inspection is conducted after 30 months. We ensure our standards are checked regularly during this period and work closely with freelance inspectors who check our standards and advise on any improvements.
Safeguarding
Child Sickness & Medication
Do you give medicine to the children?
Please see our medication policy. If your child is to be given prescription medication, we can give these in line with the prescription. Over the counter temperature relief will be given if required with permission.
If they are ill, do I need to pick them up?
We will contact you if we think your child is too unwell to be at nursery.

What medication do you keep at the nursery?
We keep antihistamines and temperature relief at the nursery which we can administer in an emergency.
